The Skagit Valley Camera Club (SVCC) is a friendly local group of dedicated and creative photographers who live in Northwestern Washington State. We encourage all levels of photographers to join. Our meetings offer a time for photographers to show their images as well as interact and share ideas, knowledge and photographic techniques. Our club sponsors some great local photography workshops for every level of photographer, many of which are taught by members of the club. The club distributes a monthly Newsletter electronically informing members of upcoming events, programs, etc.

Sharing a potential photo op that is also a seasonal family outing. It's a free event at the Tulalip Casino we all pass by on the way to Everett and Seattle. It's right there adjacent to the huge array of outlet stores. It has been an annual event for the casino and seems to be growing bigger and more comprehensive each year. This year there is an ice skating rink  at their outdoor  Amphitheater that is free to spectate but there is a charge to skate.  The event has already started and runs through January 11th.

ASTRALUMINA

"And, if you're even more adventurous about continuing on to the Seattle area there is another one that looks very interesting. It's called Astra Lumina and that is a recurring event in several major cities across the country. This one happens at the Seattle Chinese Garden and you can learn about it at.....astralumina.com.  This is a staged paid event and will set you back over $20 and requires a reservation including a date and time slot.  It is also an outdoor event so you'll want to make your plans with the weather in mind. I suggest you time either outing during blue hour as I find that time more interesting than having a backdrop of a black sky.
