SVCC Baggage Room Gallery Submission Guidelines
Guidelines
- Normally Depot Gallery change out dates will be at the end of every other month.
- Change out dates will be published in the SVCC E-mail newsletter sent to all members.
- All images must be matted and framed behind glass or plexiglas using a good quality frame that has a strong picture wire hanging system.
- There must be a picture frame hanging wire from left to right on the back of the frame.
- Normally the wire is positioned about 3 - 5 inches from the top of the frame depending on the size of the image and the frame manufacturer's hanging system.
- Nielsen brand wood or metal frames are a good example of a quality frame with a strong picture wire based hanging system.
- We do not hang frames that simply hang by the frame edge on a nail.
- Local arts & crafts stores may sell inexpensive frames with glass that have funky spring clips and/or soft metal hanging clips. These don't work very well and may snap out of place or break.
Framing Options
You have many framing options including the following.
- Have your work matted & framed by a professional frame shop.
- Purchase stock precut mats and high quality frames and glass and mat & frame your own work.
- Cut your own mats and purchase high quality frames and glass and mat & frame your own work.
Selected suppliers of frames and glass are listed on this SVCC website page. Mat board may be purchased locally or in Seattle from art supply stores like Daniel Smith Art Supplies.
