I was first introduced to photography by a friend when I was 26 years old. He showed me how to develop black and white film and I was instantly hooked. As my techniques improved for exposing and developing film correctly, I upgraded from the 35mm format to the 2 ¼” by 2 ¼” format. After reading numerous books, I became a huge fan of Ansel Adams and to this day follow his ideas and the Zone System for evaluating and exposing a scene. Although black and white landscapes are my favorites, more of my time is spent doing action and sports photography now.
